The project included weekly sampling and analysis for blue green algae (BGA), enterococci and E-coli bacteria and advising the LGA for mitigation measures to prevent exposure to microbes and BGA.

In-situ field parameters were measured using a calibrated multi-parameter water quality meter and visual observations made for potential sources of microbial contamination and aesthetic issues.

A customized sampling and analysis program was developed to comply with the Victoria BGA Circular- Algal Management Framework.

The LGA was able to mitigate adverse impact on the local community when BGA or bacteria was observed in the surface water sample and also open the water for community to enjoy during the active recreation season.

The environmental auditor issued the PRSA statement and allowed redevelopment of the site for childcare development without environmental audit.

The private developer was able to commence the redevelopment of the site for a childcare centre.

SPT Environmental Pty Ltd was engaged to prepare a Land Capability Assessment (LCA) to support a proposed redevelopment involving a community care facility. The assessment was required as part of a planning application to the local council, given the absence of a reticulated sewerage system in the area. The proposed development includes multiple single-storey buildings, each containing two bedrooms, with a total of 16 bedrooms. The LCA was undertaken to demonstrate that the site can adequately treat and retain all wastewater in accordance Council and Victorian regulations. The report includes a conceptual design for a suitable onsite wastewater treatment system, addressing both primary and secondary treatment requirements. Field investigations were carried out by qualified personnel, and the findings confirm that the land is capable of supporting the proposed wastewater infrastructure.

SPT Environmental Pty Ltd was engaged to conduct a preliminary desktop landfill gas risk assessment in support of a planning permit for residential development. The assessment was undertaken to address a specific permit condition requiring evaluation of potential methane hazards beneath the land and any associated risks to the proposed construction. The site is located in proximity to a former landfill, which is considered a potential source of methane gas. The assessment was carried out by a qualified consultant with expertise in subsurface landfill gas investigations. The resulting report provided the likelihood of methane-related impacts and outlined whether further detailed assessment or an environmental audit under the Environmental Protection Act 2017 is warranted.

SPT Environmental Pty Ltd was engaged by the local council to carry out a scheduled landfill monitoring event at an operational facility. The monitoring was conducted over two days biannually, in accordance with the site’s Risk Management and Monitoring Plan (RMMP). This biannual monitoring is a regulatory requirement to ensure ongoing compliance with the site's environmental license. All activities were performed in line with the RMMP specifications provided by the council.

SPT Environmental Pty Ltd was engaged to undertake a Preliminary Site Investigation (PSI) to support a proposed redevelopment project involving a childcare facility. The investigation was initiated in response to a formal request for further information issued by the local council, requiring assessment under Clause 13.04-1S of the planning scheme and Section 25 of the Environment Protection Act. The PSI was conducted in accordance with the National Environment Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure 1999, as amended in 2013, and included justification for the sampling strategy and laboratory testing by a NATA-accredited facility. The purpose of the investigation was to determine whether the site poses any contamination-related risks to human health and to establish whether further assessment, a Soil Management Plan, or an environmental audit is warranted. The findings will inform council decisions regarding the planning application and any additional requirements.
